KentHOPE Shelter

Helping the lost become found in Kent

KentHOPE is a ministry of Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission, bringing together local non-profits, volunteers, neighbors, businesses, and churches in a community approach to reducing homelessness in Kent. By providing women and their children with emergency meals, shelter, and support services, KentHOPE provides a stable pathway out of homelessness.

Please, give generously today to help homeless women and their children find lasting hope and a new life.

KentHOPE Day Center

Our Day Center hosts women and their children to meet their immediate needs. The Day Center is on the front lines of homelessness in Kent, and the first point of interaction for guests walking in off the streets. We demonstrate the love of Jesus in action through the following guest services:

  • 3 substantial, healthy meals served daily
  • Showers, laundry facilities, restrooms
  • Case management to address barriers that lead to homelessness
  • Resources for mental health and domestic violence trauma
  • Housing application and employment assistance
  • Morning devotion, Bible studies, and church services

KentHOPE Programs

Through our Enhanced Shelter Program, we help stabilize women — with or without children — who are currently experiencing homelessness. This is a time for women and their children to readjust from life on the street to one of increased structure and balance. Approximately 3-6 months in duration, this program is designed to help overcome traumas experienced by, and leading to homelessness, including substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence, medical conditions, loss of job, and more. Guests are given the opportunity to work alongside staff to create personalized action plans and steps to become stabilized. This can include entry into treatment programs, transitional living, and permanent housing.

Our Bridge Emergency Shelter and Recovery Support Program is a benchmark-driven addiction recovery program designed to help women — with or without children — learn healthy pathways in recovery. Approximately 3-6 months in duration, this program is focused on Jesus and recovery. We help women gain the knowledge and spiritual insight to walk addiction-free. Women will have case management, church, recovery support groups, and bible studies. As a Christ-centered organization, we incorporate biblical principles into recovery to help gain the tools needed for lifetime recovery.

The Link Transitional Program is a clean and sober, transitional program for women — with or without children — that provides Christian discipleship, life skills, case management, job readiness, budget planning, and housing application tracking. The goal is to successfully seek and maintain employment or education while saving funds for stable housing.
